The Power of The Subconscious Mind

The human brain is an incredible machine.

The operating system of the brain consists of two parts, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind, sometimes known as the unconscious mind.

The power of the subconscious mind is absolutely incredible.

The Incredible Human Mind

We are all familiar with the conscious part. The conscious part of the brain is the part that you are using right now to perceive the world in front of you. It is the part of your brain that makes choices and decisions. This part of your brain makes up 10% of your brain chemistry.

The other 90% of your brainpower is derived from the subconscious mind, the part of your brain you are not conscious of. The subconscious mind regulates all your bodily functions and houses the memories and experiences of every event in your life, whether you can consciously remember them or not.

In essence, the subconscious mind is the storage room of everything that is currently not in your conscious mind.

The subconscious is also home to your belief system, personal skills you have acquired and all the habits you have developed. It is basically the “bank” of information your conscious mind accesses to make decisions all throughout your day. It can be conditioned and RE-conditioned.

Your subconscious mind acts on autopilot.

The subconscious mind is responsible for the automatically triggered feelings and emotions you suddenly experience upon facing a new situation. If you are nervous giving presentations in front of people, you might experience fear and anxiety right before your speech. These are all feelings housed in your subconscious and have the ability to be altered and removed.

Re-programming your subconscious mind takes a lot of time and effort.

If you are going to change a habit or pattern of belief that you have been using for the last 20 years, you are not going to be able to make any dramatic steps overnight. You have to make the conscious effort to change, but 90% of your brain is going to resist the change from the subconscious because it has been deeply programmed to function a certain way.

A lot of times, the effort of the 10% is completely overwhelmed and people give up on trying to change bad habits and beliefs. Look at how many people try to quit cigarettes or drugs but never fully make the commitment.

There are methods however that will make the transition into new empowering beliefs and habits a lot easier. A few of those methods are self-hypnosis, subliminal messaging, and meditation.

Self-hypnosis is a hypnosis that a person performs on his or herself. In fact, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. A hypnotist will merely suggest ideas to you while you are in a trance, you make the ultimate decision if you truly want to act on them for your benefit.

Train Yourself To Lucid Dream

If you have ever had a dream where you became aware you were dreaming, you have had a lucid dream experience. When this first happens for many it can be very shocking and usually the dreamer awakens quickly because they are not comfortable with the experience. It can be very weird at first to consciously be aware that you are in a dream because the dream state feels just the same as actual reality.
