In Tennessee, a couple took a woman they knew off of their friend list on Facebook, and they were killed days later by the womans father and boyfriend.
Supposedly they didn’t like the way that she was treated by this couple. Now, Marvin Potter, 60, and Jamie Curd, 38 have each been charged with two counts of first degree murder and are being held in the Johnson County Jail.
On Jan. 31, Billy Payne Jr, 36, and Billie Jean Hayworth, 23, were found shot to death in their house that they shared. Billy Payne was also found with a slashed throat. They had an 8 month old baby who was found unharmed next to the mother.
Police say that Payne and Hayworth filed a complaint against Jenelle Potter a year ago for threatening them on the phone and online. They have had problems over the year, but the killing happened after she was “defriended” by the couple.
The Potter family was known to be a strange family.
Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece explained that the ”defriending” sparked the murders. He has dealt with the family before, and this is what he had to say:
“Her life is spent at that computer. She’s had some health problems, and she wasn’t working. It’s just a senseless thing. She’d been blocked on Facebook by Billy Jean. Once you cross her, it’s a big thing to her father, too. And he’s something to deal with.”
This might be one of the most senseless crimes in the history of human existence.
