Nelson Mandela represents everything that should be encompassed in a leader. Standing for equality, justice, and joint communication amongst opposing nations. Mandela’s stance has always been solid, never wavering from a sound rhetoric in support of his people. With a platform of peace and compassion, we have seen nothing but great actions from the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize winner. For Mandela’s family, these are turbulent times. Times that they will cherish and remember as the times that meant most to them.

In Johannesburg, 2002, Mandela stated:

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” - 90th birthday celebration of Walter Sisulu, Walter Sisulu Hall, Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa,18 May 2002

Education amongst South Africans has been Mandela’s strong subject in recent years as he has devoted much effort to the exchanging of information and the stimulation of knowledge. In 2003 he publicly proclaimed the need for education at the University of Witwatersrand(Sourth Africa) by saying, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Well wishes and prayers from around the globe flood in for the respected leader and diplomat. On the world’s stage Mandela has been strong in is convictions and beliefs as well as the we he has conducted himself in office. Yesterday, The South African published “…we should take time to consider the great man’s words of wisdom”, citing that once a great leader always a great leader.

As this time might signal the closing of a chapter for Nelson Mandela, we need to take courage in what he has left us with. Such a great leader will be missed and remembered in many ways. Although his physical presence may be gone from this earth his impact wont. The strength of his spirit and solidarity of mind will remain in the hearts and minds of millions around the world.

Nuclear Testing Sites Around the World and Their Dangers

North Korea has announced their 3rd nuclear test which is aimed at the United States. Yea this seems like pretty serious news, but our leaders don’t seem too concerned. I’m pretty sure that if North Korea ever tried to send a nuke our way, we would immediately shoot it out of the sky and send 20 of them back in their direction. I’m not an expert on this stuff, but I don’t see North Korea attempting to blow us up any time soon. They know how terrible that decision would turn out for them.

But to hear that our enemy is testing their nuclear weapons could be very scary to some people and that is very understandable. Countries have been testing nuclear weapons since the 1940s, and no one has yet to attempt a nuclear strike anywhere remotely close to us. People should be more concerned about the environmental/health problems caused by the testing rather than actually getting bombed.

Why I Still Think Mitt Romney is Going to Lose This Election

Way back in July, I came to the conclusion that Mitt Romney was going to lose this election.

When I came to that conclusion he still had not picked a vice presidential candidate and he was still pretty far behind in the polls. At the end of August I published a re-post that included Paul Ryan’s selection which only reinforced my main point. Read more of this post

Debate Expectations: Round Two

So needless to say since the last debate there has been a lot of speculation as to who won the first debate between the President and Governor Romney, as well as the debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. Most of if not all people can agree that the last two debates where some of the most exciting debates we have seen in about twenty years. Read more of this post

Pyramids of China (VIDEO)

Here is an interesting fact; there are over 300 pyramids in China!

For reasons which I will refrain from speculating about, the Chinese government has done everything in its power to deny the existence of these interesting structures. Read more of this post

Chefchaouen is an Entirely Blue City

Chefchaouen is a small beautiful city with a population of about 40,000, located in northeastern Morocco near the Mediterranean Sea.

The city was founded in 1471  in the Rif Mountains, just inland from Tangiera and Tetouan and used as a fortress which still exists today. The fortress was built to fight the invasions of the Portuguese of Northern Morocco. This  town is the embodiment of almost every Moroccan cliché. The picturesque medina, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rif Mountains, is filled with white-washed homes with distinctive Blue walls everywhere!

“The Most Alien-Looking Place on Earth”

Socotra Island is the complete opposite of anything that is considered “normal” for a landscape on Earth.

socatra island The Most Alien Looking Place on Earth

Socotra Island is the most bizarre place on Earth

This Yemeni Archipelago consists of 4 islands that rest deep in the Indian Ocean. It supposedly split off the horn of Africa about 6 million years ago, leaving it completely isolated from the rest of the world (Most isolated landforms on Earth).

Socotra Island is one of the oldest inhabited regions in the world. Its isolation from the rest of the world has preserved the islands way of life, which hasn’t changed since the middle ages.

The beaches of Socotra Island rise to limestone plateaus, which are full of very deep caves. Above the caves are mountains that reach up to 1525 meters high.

Strange Place: Was the “Eye of The Earth” Created by Extraterrestrials?

Strange Place: Was the Eye of The Earth Created by Extraterrestrials?

Looking at the Richat Structure from space

That image is simply amazing, but now imagine seeing an eye on the surface of the Earth that is looking back at you.

This is what Astronauts see when they are looking down from space at the Richat Structure, an amazing add to the strange place collection.

The Richat Structure is a prominent circular feature  in the middle of the Sahara Desert of West-Central Mauritania. It is deeply eroded, and stretches 40 km in diameter.

Scientists originally thought it was a crater formed by a meteorite, but this was ruled out. The flat middle and lack of shock altered rock made it obvious to scientists that a rock from space did not form this structure.

Its perfectly circular shape is still a mystery today.

Advocates of the EU model claim that:

” craters like the Richat were not formed by impacts but were “machined” by electric discharges, Birkeland currents that rotate around a “sticking” point and excavate material by electrically accelerating it upwards without disturbing the surrounding or underlying strata, unless the whole area is raised in a fulgamite blister–hence Rampart Craters. Specific effects will depend on a wide variety of soil conditions including chemical composition, material type, density, moisture, and conductivity.  Discharge factors, including diameter, voltage, current, and duration will also affect the crater configuration.”

All of these claims  sound nice and fancy, but what if it was all false?

What if this was the work of some being from a different planet?

Some alien believers have come to the conclusion that this “dome” was created by extraterrestrials as a target  for when they want to attack or land on Earth.

There is a theory that this “bulls-eye” was lasered into the Earth by aliens from another strange place.

Strange Place: Was the Eye of The Earth Created by Extraterrestrials?

The Richat Structure resembles an eye

Astronauts have made it clear that it is the most visible part of Earths surface from space, and it has the most perfectly circular shape out of any landmass on Earth.

Sounds like a pretty nice target to me.

So since there are no definite facts about the creation of the Richat Structure, why not take all theories into consideration?
