HJ: We do not see life as it is — we see life as we are. And yet most people assume we see the world objectively. And therein lies a great source of pain and suffering because we are projecting our thoughts and beliefs onto the world around us, believing that this is how the world is, when it is just us playing a game with ourselves. And so we constantly fool ourselves into believing what we already believe is true, is true. And we create our reality and then let it control us. But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can shift your reality once you start seeing life as a reflection of your own heart and mind — when you understand that you read whatever meaning into situations you choose to believe, you can then use ‘reality’ as a tool for self-reflection and growth. This is one of the most powerful shifts you can make because it switches you from a victim into a powerful creator. It is how you shift your reality by shifting yourself.

A new University of Virginia study strongly suggests that we are hardwired to empathize because we closely associate people who are close to us — friends, spouses, lovers — with our very selves.”With familiarity, other people become part of ourselves,” said James Coan, a psychology professor in U.Va.’s College of Arts & Sciences who used functional magnetic resonance imaging brain scans to find that people closely correlate people to whom they are attached to themselves. Music has always been recognized as having a powerful effect on human consciousness. We are learning why different kinds of music and sounds have the effects that they do on the body, emotions, mind, and spirit. Science tells us that all life is energy in one form or another. Further, this energy is eternal, changing and morphing from one shape or form to another. Each ‘energy shape’ has its own particular pattern of frequencies, or vibrations. When one form experiences a matching frequency in the form of a musical note, the form will begin to vibrate in sympathy with the note in sympathetic resonance.
