Stephen Hawking Proposes: “There Are No Black Holes”

Most physicists foolhardy enough to write a paper claiming that “there are no black holes” — at least not in the sense we usually imagine — would probably be dismissed as cranks. But when the call to redefine these cosmic crunchers comes from Stephen Hawking, it’s worth taking notice. In a paper posted online, the physicist, based at the University of Cambridge, UK, and one of the creators of modern black-hole theory, does away with the notion of an event horizon, the invisible boundary thought to shroud every black hole, beyond which nothing, not even light, can escape. Researchers Reveal Technology That Uses Sound to Levitate Objects

The essence of sound levitation technology is the countervailing of gravity. It is known that an ultrasound standing wave is capable of suspending small particles at its sound pressure nodes and, so far, this method has been used to levitate lightweight particles, small creatures, and water droplets. How Sound Affects Human Consciousness and Health

The Dharma Of Sound Healing

By Diane Mandle | Sound Energy Healing

Music has always been recognized as having a powerful effect on human consciousness. But in the past few years, there has been more research into the science of sound, and how it can be used to improve our lives. We are learning why different kinds of music and sounds have the effects that they do on the body, emotions, mind, and spirit. Science tells us that all life is energy in one form or another. Further, this energy is eternal, changing and morphing from one shape or form to another. Each ‘energy shape’ has its own particular pattern of frequencies, or vibrations. When one form experiences a matching frequency in the form of a musical note, the form will begin to vibrate in sympathy with the note in sympathetic resonance. A strong enough vibration can even cause a form to restructure itself, as has been noted with cancer cells, crystal glasses, water crystals etc. Read more of this post

Why Avoiding The News Makes You Smarter

By: | High Existence

Some time ago I stopped reading and watching the news. No newspapers, no news programs and no internet snippets of world drama. I stopped because I didn’t feel it had any positive effect on my life and I suspected it might even have a harmful effect. Sometimes when watching or reading the news I felt myself anticipating for another big event in the world, something to shake the very core of my being. Other times I checked my smart-phone every hour to get my news-fix. Was I truly in need to know what comes through the filters of the media or was I just a news-junky? Read more of this post

Mission Mars One

Mission Mars One is a non-profit foundation that plans to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars by 2023.  The private spaceflight project is led by Dutch entrepreneur Bas Lansdorp and has been endorsed by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Gerard’t Hooft. The founding members of the Mars One team came together, to develop a strategic plan for taking humanity to Mars in 2011.

The Mars One mission plan integrates components that are well tested and readily available from industry leaders worldwide. Its plan consists of cargo missions and unmanned preparation of a habitable settlement, followed by human landings. In 2022, four carefully selected applicants will be launched in a Mars-bound spaceflight to become the first residents on Mars. The mission design takes into account the expansion of the human colony where a new crew will arrive every two years and every step of the crew’s journey will be documented for a reality television program that will be broadcast 24/7/365. Meet SKA: The 3,000 Mile Long Super-Telescope

SKA Copy 300x192 Meet SKA: The 3,000 Mile Long Super Telescope

The SKA Logo

The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) will be the world’s largest and most sensitive radio telescope when it is completed.

Using Interferometry, which is the linking together of radio telescopes to create a larger virtual telescope known as an Interferometer, the SKA will combine thousands of linked radio wave receptors that will be located in Australia and Southern Africa. Ten countries across these two continents will share the location of this mind-boggling project.

ALL SIGNALS FROM THE ANTENNAS IN EACH REGION WILL COMBINE and create a collecting area equivalent to A DISH WITH AN AREA OF ABOUT 1,000,000 METERS. Read more of this post

Google Glass is Perfect for Perverts and Pranksters

I’m sure most of you read up on the exciting news releases of Googles’ terminator style glasses called Google Glass. After reading a couple of really long articles about all of its features, I have to admit, I was pretty interested – but I would never buy them. The reason being that they just look ridiculous and all of the things that can go wrong while wearing them are too embarrassing. I truly don’t believe that they will ever perfect this idea, but most of the population will still buy a pair just to say that they have them.

Biochemist Creates CO2-Eating Light That Runs on Algae (VIDEO)

Our atmosphere is filling up with CO2 and we seem to be the major cause of that. The generally accepted solution seems to be cutting back on emissions as quickly as possible, but implementing such cuts is problematic because everyone has to agree to do more, which essentially ends up costing a lot of time and money.

There is an alternative to such measures, though. Instead of relying entirely on cutting emissions, why don’t we start taking CO2 out of the atmosphere? That’s exactly what biochemist Pierre Calleja is trying to do, and his solution almost sounds too good to be true.

Calleja has developed a lighting system that requires no electricity for power. Instead it draws CO2 from the atmosphere and uses it to produce light as well as oxygen as a byproduct. The key ingredient to this eco-friendly light? Algae. Read more of this post
