FBI Caught Spying on Millions of Apple Customers

Anonymous strikes again.
Hackers from the protest movement known as “Anonymous” disclosed Monday night that they caught the Federal Bureau of Investigation red-handed spying on Apple customers. They claim that the FBI accessed more than 12 million Apple UDIDs, the unique identifier associated with every iPhone and iPad that is sold. Attached to these UDIDs were names, cell phone numbers, and addresses.
In 2010, Apple told a congressional inquiry that it cannot track iPhones in real time. A hacker named Eric Smith noted that third party applications can transmit UDIDs, which could potentially be linked to the owner and used to track that person. This is precisely what hackers with Anonymous think the FBI was doing.
Anonymous claims to have hacked into a laptop owned by a FBI cyber security expert, and downloaded several files including one that contained over 12 million Apple iOS devices including UDIDs. Personal detail fields appear all over the files and no file or folder mentions any purpose of the list.
It has become increasingly clear over the last few months that the government is trying to track its citizens in every way possible. If you have not heard about the massive American spy network, known as Trapwire, I would suggest you make yourself a little bit more aware of what is taking place in this country behind most people’s backs. While being spied on and tracked may not seem immediately threatening to people who are not doing anything wrong or illegal, it can potentially create a lot of problems in the future if you find yourself in a sticky situation. All of the data you transmit and receive is being recorded, and any little piece of that can be used against you in the future. Any time the government would like to use information against you, it would be readily available through stored databases of once “private” information. Everything you say or do could potentially be used to incriminate you in the near future without your knowledge of being tracked and recorded.
Slowly but surely, our freedoms and rights seem to be slipping away as the powerful elite that control this country try to keep their stranglehold on domination and power. Nothing seems out of the realm of possibility these days, and until we find an adequate solution, it is just going to keep getting worse. The power distribution needs to be shifted from a completely lopsided system to a more balanced and equal system for everyone. Something major will be needed in order for that to happen, because the ideal system is far and beyond out of reach from where we currently stand.
