Having seen our war machine in action firsthand I can only feel profound guilt and regret for taking part in it. American foreign policy has become malignant and imperialist. A paradigm shift in our national philosophy is needed if we are to avoid the imminent collapse that is the fate of all empires that overextend themselves in pursuit of lustful greed and shortsighted militarism. We are the modern day Romans, and our Caesers have learned nothing from their historical predecessors. My days as a Centurion have been the darkest I have ever known. Our future, if we are to have one, must be a release from imperial hubris and an embrace of universal goodwill, planetary stewardship, and rational humility.
