Happy Fourth of July From PhdinWeed

Note I didn’t say “Independence Day.” That is because the citizens of the United States of America are among the LEAST independent people in the Western Hemisphere. We are enslaved by the multinational corporations, the military/industrial complex, and a government that is staffed by former employees of the very firms that they are supposed to regulate.
With the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that Obamacare is constitutional, and thus the government can FORCE you to buy a product and FINE or TAX (depending on the ever-changing definition) you for not purchasing it, the final nail has been driven into the coffin. We have, to quote Ayn Rand, reached the point where “the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.”
Lest anyone think I am exaggerating or making something out of nothing, consider the following:
1. American citizens are literally under constant surveillance/intimidation by the federal (and local) government. Bills such as the NDAA, the Patriot Act extension, CISPA or the “new CISPA, the SECURE IT Act“, HR 347, and HR 658 (Drone Bill) have turned America into a real life version of George Orwell’s 1984 or, for those of the younger generation, The Matrix.
2. Increasingly prevalent intrusive searches, in CLEAR violation of the Fourth Amendment, whether they are conducted by the TSA, the NYPD, or any other law enforcement branch.
3. The increasing presence of the US military conducting “training” in or around major US cities.
4. The over-the-top harassment of small organic farmers, raw milk producers, and naturalists.
Add it all up, and you have the recipe for one totalitarian police state, ready to order.
