Gregg Williams Speech Before Saints-Niners Playoff Game

Well this is a short clip of the speech and I must say, this will rock the culture of the NFL. The NFL is trying to become more player safety oriented, but this speech completely SHIT on that idea.
The cat is out of the bag, America. ( and some of us like that it is.) Football is a violent sport and if you NEVER played the game, you just will not understand.
What Gregg Williams says is not right, BUT this is Football. When you are in a “football” state of mind, comments like that are very common and relevant in NFL Locker Rooms.
Also, let’s not think Gregg Williams is the ONLY coach in the NFL that has ever talked like that, and if you do believe that, you are a complete moron.
This clip shows what really goes on pre-game and you know what..
IT IS EXACTLY HOW I ENVISIONED IT..
However, in a very sensitive sports society we live in, it is unfortunate that every word of this clip will be taken literally. Gregg Williams is just trying to fire his guys up the best way he can, which is through aggression and installing fear in his opponent.
And you know what?
THAT IS WHAT GREAT DEFENSES DO.
I feel bad for Williams, this video is going to be taken so out of context and make him seem to be a HORRIBLE person, but in reality, he is just doing his job.
I’m not defending what Williams said, but I completely understand where he is coming from and the context when this was said.
However, the fact that Williams goes into such detail about going after the head does raise a red flag for me. This goes from a “pump up the team” speech to “GO FOR THE HEAD” speech, almost instructing players to hurt one another.
“Kill the FUCKING head”
“Kill the head the body will die”
Those are pretty bone-chilling statements, and I consider myself a very pure football player and fanatic. I am not a fan nor a hater on Williams, but statements like that in the society we live in will only get you in trouble and cost you more than your job, but your reputation.
Can you feel the lawsuits coming?
Maybe Troy Aikman was right, maybe Football has peaked in terms of it’s popularity?
What are your thoughts on Williams Speech?
