Joe Rogan Speaks The Truth About School

I have felt this way for a long time about the education system, especially how the education system in America limits children in their creativity.

As you grow older, you just begin to accept the fact that you have to put up with it as much as you don’t want to deal with it. There are some interesting classes that I have taken in school, but for the majority of them, I have retained ZERO information from because I simply wasn’t interested. If I ever need any of that information again, I will just search for it on the internet and not have it forced upon my memory. I’ll save my brainpower and energy for more fun, creative tasks.

Back to School!

We limit our potential for growth when we limit our creativity, and school prevents a lot of children from creatively expressing themselves because they are trapped in a structured system all day. They then go on to believe that a structured system is the way life is to be lived. This is however, one of the biggest illusions we fall victim to.

Structure is important, but too much structure can leave children strangled. They must be able to express themselves creatively for this is the best time in their life to be free.

Kids don’t have much to worry about, especially if their parents provide adequately for them. They don’t have to worry about jobs, and bills, and mortgages, they just have to worry about having fun. The fun doesn’t have to end either. It takes a developing awareness of your surroundings to realize that you don’t have to be forced to do something you truly do not want to do. You have the option of pursuing whatever you wish, it doesn’t have to be something you don’t like just because everyone else has been programmed to believe it is “the right path.” Don’t conform to patterns of the past, because those are old and we have become much smarter. We keep evolving, as long as we don’t restrict our ability to live our lives as the creative beings we are.

Joe was able to take advantage of opportunities because he could identify them. School probably opened his eyes to what was out there and what can be done. Sort of like no one could break the four minute mile until one man did it. Now everybody does it. Have you ever noticed really good people are really bad parents or carpenters evan because no one showed them how to be good at it. Joe seems to be under the self made man myth. Why should each of us be forced to reinvent the wheel when we can go to school for a few years figure out where we have been, where we are and take that and figure out where we want to go. I love Joe but he has a blind mans coceitedness. He rode to stardom on the backs of great people and is unwilling to acknowledge that and hamstring his followers to boot.

I don’t think Rogan is blind necessarily, rather I think he put in the time and effort to break free of the conditioning society places upon its members. While he did rise to stardom on the backs of great people, he did a lot of the work himself. Most successful people don’t become successful by themselves, they require the support of friends and colleagues. The individual effort is enhanced by the team you work with to become successful. Rogan was the leader of his own development, but relied heavily on the support of people who had the same beliefs he did. In essence, they were able to break free of society’s barriers together, but have gone down several different individual paths since.

While Rogan is not 100% on everything he preaches, he certainly gives great advice for people who want to become independent and think for themselves. He is great at making people more aware of their current condition, and he is willing to give advice on how to formulate your own opinions, rather than accept the opinion of the majority of the public as FACT.

The fact is, our society is flawed in more ways then we can imagine, and it stems from children being conditioned to believe things at a young age that they don’t have the opportunity to formulate their own opinions on. They have to accept everything they are told, and that conditioning is restraint when they one day decide to formulate their own opinions. It can be tough to go against everything you have ever learned, especially when it is engraved into your subconscious mind and operating system. It takes years and years of applied effort and study to determine the best way to live your own individual life.

Kids are taught for state tests, nothing more. It’s a shame.

Yes a strict curriculum that has many flaws in the way it is structured and delivered for children to absorb.
