Psychedelic Explorations With The Tao of D (1)

Alright everyone, this is the first “Psychedelic Explorations” post I will be doing. Basically what I will be doing is, once or twice a week I will drop a “Psychedelic Explorations”post. I’ll talk about a wide number of things that have taken place and that are currently taking place in the psychedelic community. The pros and cons of taking psychedelics will also be discussed. There will be pictures, music, coverage of psychedelic events, and much more!
I’ve experimented with both mushrooms and LSD a few times in a shamanistic way. I have never taken psychedelics in a recreational way. I have come away from each trip with knowledge. There is always something to be gained In a psychedelic trip. Even if the trip starts off negative, keep in mind the “yin-yang”, find light in darkness. It’s never an impossible task. It is a task however, that does come with some skill and experience.
The psychedelic scene has always been something that intrigued me. I was told never to be afraid of what other people tell you about them. Most of the crazy stories you hear of people going insane are just a bunch of propaganda. Some a very real, that’s the risk you take when you choose to do any drug. Except for our sacred herb, marijuana<3.
There’s just something so cool about psychedelics. The strangeness to it, the funny weird things that happen on it. The visions, the thoughts, the epiphanies. I love all of it, everything about psycho-active drugs intrigues me. It’s a doorway to expanded consciousness if used correctly.
I was 15 or 16 when I had my first psychedelic experience. My good friend and I ate an eighth of mushrooms each on our Big Macs while we sat at our tables inside of McDonalds. We caught a cab to another friends grandparents house, where we crashed for most of the evening.
Little did we know, but our friend’s grandparents were home that evening. When we arrived at the house we were just beginning to feel the mushrooms kicking in. We walked into my friends house and there was her grandmother and grandfather sitting in the living room. Awkward. We just walked to my friends room where we sat in amazement for the next 4 hours.
After the half hour of laughter, things started to get a trippy, fast. I was sitting at one end of the couch, my friend on the shrooms at the other side, and my friends who’s grandparents house it was was sitting on the floor. It was as if me and my fellow tripper were in two different worlds. We didn’t talk much, we just sat there, walked around to explore a little and took it all in. At one point i thought the couch was expanding and than contracting and getting smaller.
We ended up taking the bus home. Watching the lights zoom by from the bus window was one of the highlights of my trip. The colors were so bright and vagrant. It was as if I was staring at the most beautiful thing in the world. That night was a long, strange, trip.
Pink Floyd are one of the godfathers of psychedelia. They came onto the music seen in the early 1960s with a unique sound that no one had heard before. Led by Syd Barrett and Roger Waters, Pink Floyd’s strange sound became known as psychedelia. They are my ALL-TIME FAVORITE BAND! I am a Pink Floyd GURU, if there’s something you want to know about Pink Floyd, I’m your guy!
Enjoy this timeless piece by one of the best bands ever.
