The Truth About Hemp

17 out of the 52 states have been given permission to research hemp and only 6 states have been authorized to cultivate it. Hemp has even become one of the worlds top economic industries and still the DEA remain highly opposed to it. For those of you who don’t know, hemp is a strain of marijuana that contains less than 1% of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive in marijuana. You can’t get high off of hemp. Other strains contain anywhere from 6 to 20% THC, obviously those being the strains you’re gonna wanna get ya hands on!

I’ve even read that hemp can be manufactured into 25,000 environmental friendly products. Why isn’t hemp completely legal? When you think about it, one way or another, if we know it or not, we’re all contributing to the whole “Green’ movement that’s happening right now. What I mean by that is, even if you’re not the most eco-friendly mother fucker alive, if you don’t recycle the city’s gonna fine yo ass! You’re forced to recycle because nobody want’s to pay the $100 fine the city’s gonna hit you with. With society getting greener, it would make a lot of sense to start utilizing hemp.

There are many things that can come from it: textiles, papers, paints, clothing, plastics, cosmetics, foodstuffs, insulation, animal feed, and other products. Word to the DEA: you CAN’T get high off of textiles! Hemp is nothing but beneficial to society. Even George Washington and Benjamin Franklin realized that hemp was pretty useful…both of those founding father mother fuckers used hemp for rope, sails and paper. Benjamin Franklin even started one of Americas first paper mills with cannabis. When settlers from European countries came to America they used hemp seeds as a source for lamp oil. Some colonies even called the production of hemp necessary for the “wealth and protection of the country.” Betcha a lot of you didn’t know that!!! And for all you hippies out there, here is a link to The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Get on there, learn some more about marijuana and sign some petitions…lets get our beloved herb legalized.

I think news paper corps have a role to play cuz they wuld have to switch the machines over to work with hemp and that would just cost way to much money so they are probably tryna keep marijuana illegal which is bullshit!
